Rosaviatsiya has approved the RA60 passenger seats for the Il-114-300 aircraft. Tests have confirmed that the model meets the current requirements, the agency's press service said.
Roman Ramazanov, General Director of the manufacturing company LLC "Aviation Interiors", received a certificate of airworthiness from Dmitry Kopysov, Head of the Aviation Equipment Certification Department of Rosaviatsiya.
The main evaluation criterion was passenger safety. The seats must be reliable and durable.
But it is equally important that people feel comfortable in them, because the Il-114-300 will serve regional routes, including in the difficult climatic conditions of Siberia and the Far East.
The approval of seats is a mandatory certification procedure for the Il-114-300 regional turboprop aircraft. The completion of the necessary activities is scheduled for May.
Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin noted that the Il-114-300 will receive a type certificate in the coming months, but the process may be delayed until the end of 2026. What exactly is the problem, the head of the department did not explain.
