Drivers in Russia can challenge a fine for late registration of a vehicle (ТС) if the procedure was delayed through no fault of their own. This was stated by auto lawyer Lev Voropaev.
According to the rules, after the purchase, a Russian citizen has 10 days to register. If a citizen does not meet this deadline, he will be brought to administrative responsibility (a fine of up to 2000 rubles).
Punishment can be avoided if the registration documents were submitted through the "Gosuslugi" portal or the MFC, but the procedure was delayed through no fault of the vehicle owner, and he can confirm the date of application.
However, this does not guarantee exemption from liability, the expert emphasized. The driver may be fined for driving a car that is not registered.
If he is driving a car that has not been registered within 10 days, the fine will be up to 800 rubles. For a repeated violation, you will have to pay up to 5000 rubles. In some cases, they may be deprived of their driving license for up to 3 months, Voropaev summarized.
