Samara Metallurgical Plant (SMZ) has filed a lawsuit against the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA) for 23.3 million rubles. The information appeared in the file of arbitration cases on March 20, 2026.
The subject of the dispute between the enterprises is debt and penalties under the contract for the specified amount. The court will schedule the first hearing in the case in the near future.
Recall that in February 2026, SMZ had already won a debt of 11.4 million rubles from UZGA, a penalty of 175.5 thousand rubles, as well as interest in the amount of 920.5 thousand rubles after the aircraft factory refused to pay for semi-finished products from aluminum alloys supplied under contracts.
UZGA is a manufacturer of light regional aircraft "Baikal". According to the idea, the LMS-901 project will replace the outdated An-2. Designer Alexander Silin noted that "Baikal" is superior to Soviet machines in speed and fuel efficiency.
