Il-114-300 designed for ground servicing without ladders

Most of the units of the new Il-114-300 turboprop aircraft can be serviced directly from the ground, without the use of special lifting mechanisms, according to the aircraft's chief designer, Mikhail Alekseev.

Ladders are only needed to service the engine, because the propellers are large, so we had to raise the engine higher.

Minister of Transport Andrei Nikitin noted that the Il-114-300 will receive a type certificate in the coming months, but the process may extend until the end of 2026. What exactly is the snag, the head of the department did not explain.

Analyst Vladimir Leonov drew attention to the fact that the previously announced delivery dates for the Il-114-300 to airlines raise many questions. He explained this situation by an unstable supply chain of components and parts.

The capacity of the P. A. Voronin Aviation Plant in Lukhovitsy allows assembling one Il-114-300 aircraft per month.
