The new PD-14 aircraft engine for the MC-21-310 aircraft features an efficient supply of atomized fuel at various operating modes. To achieve this, UEC engineers used 24 dual-circuit centrifugal-pneumatic nozzles in the unit.
UEC explained that air and fuel are mixed using swirlers and then fed into the combustion chamber under high pressure.
The device ensures high efficiency and stability of fuel-air mixture combustion. It is also important that due to the fine atomization of fuel, its smoke level and emission of harmful substances during combustion are reduced.
The corporation has also mastered a new technology for applying nanostructured multilayer coatings to PD-14 blades. The introduction of the technology allows to increase the operational characteristics of parts by more than two times.
Earlier, www1.ru reported that UEC accelerated the welding of PD-14 engine parts by 10 times.
