The AL-41ST-25 Engine from the Su-57 Confirmed Its Design Solutions

The unit operates reliably even at elevated ambient temperatures

Pilot industrial operation of the new-generation AL-41ST-25 engine fully confirmed the design solutions incorporated into it. This was stated by the United Engine Corporation (ODK).

The company recalled that work on the AL-41ST-25 used operational experience gained from the already proven AL-31ST unit.

The engine has expanded climatic capabilities, ensuring efficient operation at elevated ambient temperatures. Its assigned service life is 120,000 hours with the possibility of increasing it to 150,000 hours.

ODK manufactured two prototypes of the AL-41ST-25. Tests of the second unit made it possible to implement seven technical solutions to improve reliability and efficiency.

On the test bench, the engine achieved an efficiency of 39.3% — one of the best indicators in the 25 MW power class. ODK designers focused on optimizing the air and oil systems, increasing power, and ensuring stable operation at high temperatures.

Let us recall that the AL-41ST-25 was developed on the basis of aviation technologies from the AL-41F1 engine family (\"Product 117\"), which are installed on Su-57 fighter jets.
