Transmashholding (TMKh) has built five 11-car EP2DM DC electric trains for the Central Suburban Passenger Company. The trainsets stand out not only for their technical equipment but also for their fresh design, the company said.
EP2DM is a modified model that has been produced since 2023. A special livery was developed for the new batch, and the head cars received additional lighting. Inside, there is a passenger cabin in gray and turquoise tones: the seats, handrails, and luggage racks are done in this color scheme. Each of the 850 seats is equipped with Type-A and Type-C USB ports with fast charging. There are also two spaces for passengers using wheelchairs.
The cars are fitted with a climate control system with air disinfection, while heat and light brightness are adjusted automatically. The windows are tinted to protect from the sun. LCD screens and information displays are placed throughout the cabin.
The head cars are equipped with bicycle parking areas with chargers for electric scooters and universal restrooms. The toilets feature sensor faucets, soap dispensers, hand dryers, and baby changing tables. The vestibules have waste bins and additional route displays.
In the spring of 2026, the trains in the updated design will enter routes on the Yaroslavl direction of the Moscow Railway.
