UAZ Launches Test Mode of New Robotic Press Line

Production of parts for new Sollers SUVs and UAZ Patriot will start after commissioning is completed

Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant has demonstrated a modernized press line, which will become a key element of the production program for the production of new frame SUVs under the Sollers brand. In the long term, the line's capacity is planned to be used for the manufacture of body components for the UAZ Patriot model.

The technological complex is characterized by a high degree of robotization: five press installations are already operating on the site in commissioning test mode. At the same time, the company's specialists are programming industrial manipulators, which will allow the process of stamping large-sized body parts to be transferred to a fully automatic mode in the near future.

The launch of the line is carried out as part of the first stage of a comprehensive modernization of production, implemented with the support of the Industrial Development Fund (IDF). According to the project roadmap, the next technological step will be the installation of additional pressing equipment with a force of 2,500 tons, which will expand the range of manufactured parts and increase the flexibility of the production cycle.

It is expected that after reaching its design capacity, the new line will provide the production of stamped body elements with increased geometric accuracy and stable surface quality, which meets modern requirements for frame SUVs in the SUV segment.
