The airline "Barguzin" from Buryatia became a defendant in a lawsuit by the Ministry of Industry and Trade after the disruption of performance indicators for the operation of the Mi-38-2 helicopter with the TV7-117V engine. The carrier received 57 million rubles of state support to repay the lease of the machine produced at the Kazan Helicopter Plant (KVZ).

Under the terms of the contract, "Barguzin" was to perform at least 150 regional flights in three years. However, the plans were disrupted due to problems with the TV7-117V engines developed by ODK-Klimov.

After the crash of the experienced Il-112V in 2021, flights of equipment with similar power plants were suspended. The restrictions were in effect for a long time, and then modifications and inspections were required.

As a result, "Barguzin" could not fly the required volume and formally violated the terms of the subsidy. The Ministry of Industry and Trade demanded the return of part of the funds and interest.

However, the court sided with the carrier and decided that the prohibitions did not depend on it. Evidence of the company's bad faith was not provided, and the Ministry of Industry and Trade's claim was rejected.

As a reminder, on August 17, 2021, in Kubinka, a Il-112V transport aircraft with a TV7-117ST crashed after a fire in the power plant. After that, tests of all aircraft with engines of this series were frozen for inspections.

In August 2025, the United Engine Corporation claimed that the TV7-117 series was completely reliable. In 2024, new Mi-38s with TV7-117V engines successfully flew 6.5 thousand km from Kazan to Magadan, surviving extreme -40 degrees.
