The Russian man-portable air-defense missile system (MANPADS) 9K333 "Verba" received high praise from the German portal Defence Network. Journalists called the three-band homing seeker the system's main distinguishing feature.
The 9M336 missile uses ultraviolet, near-infrared, and mid-infrared spectra. This configuration makes it possible to detect targets more effectively, reject false heat decoys, and hit low-emission objects — from drones to cruise missiles.
"Verba" is ten times superior to previous-generation systems in resistance to powerful jamming, Defence Network emphasized.
The system's interception range is up to 6 km. The complex was adopted for service in 2014 and is 1.5–2 times more effective than the Soviet "Igla-S".
The holding Vysokotochnye Kompleksy stated that there had been a noticeable increase in interest from foreign customers in the "Verba". At the same time, demand from abroad had always been high, but it has grown even more in recent years, the company stressed.
