The deal, concluded in December 2025, is valued at $589 million. Representatives of Rosoboronexport, the Russian Ministry of Defence, and the logistics service of the Iranian Armed Forces signed the document, FT claims.

According to the contract, Russia is to send Iran 500 Verba MANPADS units over the course of three years, as well as 2,500 9M336 missiles. Deliveries are scheduled for 2027–2029.

In January 2025, Russia and Iran signed the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership Treaty for the next 20 years. The document covers various areas, including defense and the fight against terrorism.

It should be noted that there has been no official confirmation from the Russian authorities of the deal reported by FT. Iran has also not commented on the information published by Western media.
