In 2026, the Ural'skie lokomotivy plant will begin manufacturing ES105 "Finist" dual-system electric trains in the "Premium" configuration. The new trainsets are intended for high-comfort interregional transportation and will undergo mandatory certification under TR TS 001/2011 before serial production begins.
The modification with improved passenger conditions was announced by the company back in 2025. According to the plans voiced at that time, the upgraded trainsets will be able to serve routes of up to 700 km, including directions where ES1P "Lastochka" trains are currently operated: Moscow — Minsk, Moscow — Ivanovo, St. Petersburg — Pskov, and others.
The basic five-car version of the ES105 "Premium" will accommodate 311 passengers. The interior is divided into "Tourist" and "Business" class zones, which corresponds to the growing demand for differentiated fare offerings in the interregional transport segment. At the same time, the modularity of the platform is preserved: as in the standard ES104 and ES105 versions, variable trainset assembly is possible — from 4 to 12 cars depending on the carrier's tasks.
The "Finist" platform was developed by Ural'skie lokomotivy as a technological alternative to the "Lastochka" trains previously produced jointly with Siemens Mobility. The design speed of the new electric trains reaches 160 km/h, and the average acceleration is 0.7 m/s², which ensures high dynamics during acceleration and reduces travel time on sections with frequent stops.
