The Chief Designer of ODK-Klimov Stated the Reliability of the VK-1600V Engine for the Ka-62

The powerplant successfully passed an audit of the control system

The completion of the certification audit of the key control system of the new VK-1600V engine for the Ka-62 helicopter demonstrates the reliability of the unit. This was stated by ODK-Klimov Chief Designer Evgeny Prodanov.

The control system of the new VK-1600V turboshaft engine passed an audit by the Aviation Register of the Russian Federation. The inspection confirmed the readiness of the key unit for the next stage of certification.

Passing the SOI-2 "Development" audit became an important stage in the certification of the VK-1600V engine. During the inspection, in accordance with the standards, the processes for creating onboard software were evaluated and an analysis was conducted of the implementation of hardware solutions for the automatic control and monitoring system. This guarantees the safety and reliability of onboard electronics at all stages of helicopter operation.
