Western countries do not have systems to detect the latest Russian missiles such as the "Oreshnik". This was stated by the chairman of the presidium of "Officers of Russia", Major General Sergei Lipovoy.
According to him, the hypersonic weapons "not only worry, but also irritate" potential adversaries. The latest use of the IRBM "Oreshnik" "came as a surprise to Europe," Lipovoy added.
Even NATO military officials honestly admitted that they did not see on the locator screens how the "Oreshnik" arrived.
The Major General emphasized that the West will not be able to intercept missiles that reach speeds of up to Mach 10.
About "Oreshnik"
The Russian complex with medium-range missiles "Oreshnik" was first used in the fall of 2024. Then a non-nuclear hypersonic version was used.
The IRBM was used for the second time in January 2026. Russian President Vladimir Putin stated that the country has a sufficient supply of "Oreshnik". In addition, their mass production has already been established. The mobile ground complex has also been put into service with the Armed Forces of Belarus.
