Rostec showed what one of KAMAZ's workshops looks like from the inside

The photos show cylinder block machining, frame assembly, wiring installation, axle installation, and final chassis assembly

Rostec showed photos from one of KAMAZ's workshops, demonstrating the process of creating heavy trucks and the plant's new capacities, which will make it possible to increase vehicle output and reduce the Russian automotive industry's dependence on imports. The published photographs show the entire production chain: from the precise machining of massive engine cylinder blocks on automated lines to the final chassis assembly, the Rostec press service noted. Every third truck on Russian roads comes off the KAMAZ assembly line, the state corporation emphasized.

The photos show the process in detail: first, metal cylinder blocks are machined, where mounting seats for the crankshaft and piston groups are milled, then the massive parts are moved using orange automated grippers. Next, the cameras capture the assembly of the truck frame with the installation of pneumatic systems, wiring, and air receivers, while at the final stages of the conveyor line rear axles with dual wheels, leaf-spring suspension elements, and illuminated marker lights are visible. The frames also feature engineers and workers supervising unit quality and machine control.

Production of axles for K3-generation vehicles and K5-family trucks is being launched at the new facilities. The total area of the complex reaches 130 thousand square meters; it includes 11 workshops and more than 6 thousand units of equipment, and 2.8 thousand employees have been recruited. The Rostec press service noted that this will make it possible to accelerate production, improve vehicle reliability, and strengthen the domestic automotive industry's autonomy from foreign components.

KAMAZ manufactures long-haul trucks, dump trucks, chassis, and special-purpose vehicles. The K5 family with new axles is designed for increased payload capacity and durability, which is critical for operation in difficult conditions. The expansion of production strengthens the company's position in the domestic market and ensures the stability of the country's transport infrastructure, making the truck creation process transparent and technologically impressive.
