Roscosmos conducted a planned correction of the International Space Station (ISS) orbit. The flight altitude was increased by 1.67 km. Currently, the ISS orbit is 422 km above the Earth's surface.
The maneuvers were carried out using the Progress MS-32 spacecraft. The engines were activated at 03:57 Moscow time. Their operation lasted 517.9 seconds, providing an impulse of 0.95 m/s.
The ISS orbit correction is carried out regularly. This helps to prevent its decrease due to atmospheric resistance, avoid collisions with space debris, and create conditions for docking arriving cargo and manned spacecraft.
Currently, Russian cosmonauts Kud-Sverchkov, Mikaev, Fedyaev, as well as NASA and ESA astronauts are on board the ISS.
