Geran UAV used as a carrier of kamikaze drones for the first time

This scheme increases the range of small UAVs

Geran kamikaze drones have for the first time begun to be used as carriers of FPV drones. The scheme allows delivering small strike aircraft closer to the target, significantly expanding their range, analysts of the Telegram channel "Military Chronicle" noted.

The main limitation of FPV drones is the short range and dependence on the operator's position. The use of a large carrier partially solves the problem. The device delivers the payload to a given area, after which small platforms can operate autonomously.

The new tactic complicates counteraction, since even if part of the carriers are hit, the probability of launching small drones near the object remains.

Prior to this, another well-known Molniya-2 strike drone was used as a drone mother.

Earlier it became known that Gerans received a fully import-substituted engine internal combustion engine. Power units are assembled at one of the enterprises in Siberia.
