Small unmanned vessels may start to be produced in Tatarstan

Zelenodolsk Plant named after A. M. Gorky plans to produce small unmanned vessels for civilian purposes as part of the national project; the application is under consideration by the Russian Science Foundation, said the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko at the final board of the department.

The issue of financing and support for the project is currently under consideration. The decision must be made by specialized structures.

JSC "Zelenodolsk Plant named after A. M. Gorky" is one of the largest and strategically important shipbuilding enterprises in the country. During its operation, the shipyard has built more than 1.5 thousand ships, including about 600 warships.

The company is part of the shipbuilding corporation created on the basis of the Ak Bars holding in Tatarstan. The development of the production of small unmanned vessels for civilian purposes may become a new direction for the development of the plant.
