Former general director of AO "NPO avtomatiki" (part of Roscosmos) Mikhail Izyumov has joined the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA), which produces the LMS-901 "Baikal" multipurpose regional aircraft. Izyumov himself spoke about this.
I am currently the deputy chief designer. I have already been in this position for a week.
Izyumov headed "NPO avtomatiki" from December 2022, but left the enterprise in September 2025. Before that, he held the position of head of launch operations at the Guiana Space Centre, as well as technical manager for launches at the Baikonur, Plesetsk, and Vostochny cosmodromes.
NPO avtomatiki named after Academician N.A. Semikhatov is one of Roscosmos's key strategic enterprises, holding the status of a restricted-access facility. Unique control systems and radio-electronic equipment for rocket and space hardware and strategic missile systems are developed here.
UZGA specializes in the production and maintenance of aircraft. The plant's key civil project is the new "Baikal," which made its first flight in December 2025.
Earlier it became known that UZGA received an order for the first hundred LMS-901 "Baikal" aircraft. These are leasing deliveries with state support, plant representatives specified.
