The Saratov-based company "Promelektronika" has launched production of seamless thin-walled tubes made of refractory metals for satellite plasma engines. This was reported by the Industrial Development Fund.
Products made from a molybdenum-rhenium alloy are used in plasma engines for communications satellites, aviation instruments, and electron-vacuum equipment.
Investment in the project exceeded 40 million rubles. The company implemented a full-cycle technology. It makes it possible to manufacture products with a thickness of 0.1 mm and a length of 16 to 34 mm with specified strength and leak-tightness.
After reaching its designed capacity, the Saratov enterprise will produce at least 1,000 tubes and sleeves and up to 4,000 other products per year. The output is intended for enterprises of Rostec, Roscosmos, and related industries.
