Aeroflot CEO Sergey Alexandrovsky said in June 2025 that the airline was expecting approval of the delivery terms for 90 MS-21 aircraft, which are to be handed over to the carrier by 2030.

In December 2025, Aeroflot confirmed its readiness to conclude contracts despite the need to agree on certain terms.

The MS-21 is a Russian medium-haul passenger aircraft with a flight range of up to 5,100 km. The aircraft is expected to replace the Tu-154 and the Tu-204 family on the Russian market.
