They drive across virgin snow at speeds of more than 50 km/h: Zvezda all-terrain vehicles passed extreme tests

The vehicles were tested on snow cover about 90 cm deep

As part of a new testing phase, the Zvezda amphibious all-terrain vehicles demonstrated effectiveness in overcoming difficult winter terrain. The tests were conducted in conditions of freshly fallen snow about 90 centimeters deep. This was reported by the manufacturer's press service.

The testers got out of the vehicle and tried to walk along the freshly made all-terrain track, but sank to a depth of up to 50 cm, which indicates minimal surface deformation by the amphibious all-terrain vehicle's ultra-low-pressure tires.

Despite the extreme conditions of Russia's northern and Siberian regions, the all-terrain vehicles showed confident performance. The key result of the tests was the speed across virgin snow, which exceeded 50 km/h.

The ability to move quickly and safely across deep virgin snow is critically important for work in remote areas, participation in winter rescue operations, geological exploration, supplying polar stations and rotational work settlements. High speed in such conditions not only reduces travel time, but also directly affects crew safety and the efficiency of completing assigned tasks.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that the new "Zvezda T13" all-terrain vehicles were shown in St. Petersburg.
