The Kaliningrad automotive assembly complex Avtotor has expanded its production lineup with models from Deepal, a premium sub-brand of the Chinese company Changan. As has become known, semi-knocked-down assembly (SKD) of the flagship SUV Deepal G318 began back in October 2025, and at the beginning of 2026 the mid-size crossover Deepal S07 joined production.
At the current stage, the vehicles are assembled from large units supplied from China. However, the company management has confirmed plans to gradually increase the degree of localization: in the medium term, a transition to body welding and the establishment of its own paint shop cycle is expected.
The model range presented on the Russian market includes two electrified platforms. The Deepal G318 is positioned as a full-size hybrid SUV, comparable in exterior dimensions to the legendary Toyota Land Cruiser. The Chinese version is equipped with one or two traction units with a combined output of 252 or 430 horsepower, respectively. The claimed range in pure electric mode reaches 190 kilometers, while the total range during combined operation of the powertrain is up to 1100 km. The Russian specification of trims and technical characteristics has not yet been disclosed.
The second model, the Deepal S07 crossover, belongs to the mid-size class and is built according to an extended-range EV scheme. The main propulsion is provided by a 238-hp electric motor, while the 1.5-liter gasoline engine serves exclusively as a generator that extends range. The electric range of this model reaches 285 kilometers in the NEDC cycle.
The official sales launch of both new models in the Russian Federation is scheduled for the end of February 2026. Pricing policy and details of service support will be announced closer to the start of sales.
