Uraldronzavod has started serial deliveries of new Upyr-18 strike unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) to units of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation. According to representatives of the plant, the newest drones are designed to destroy fortified engineering structures, including bunkers and pillboxes, using specialized mines.
The Upyr-18 drones, named for their 18-inch frame, are capable of carrying a 10-kilogram mine for tens of kilometers, striking fortified bunkers and enemy positions. The increased payload capacity also allows them to be used to supply units at the line of combat contact.
The company also announced plans to increase production volumes of this model in the coming months in response to growing demand from the military department.
As a reminder, the plant recently mastered the production of Berdysh drones, which can serve as repeaters for FPV devices of the Upyr series.
