In the Kazakh city of Balkhash (Karaganda Region), a 2015 UAZ SGR "Bukhanka" with 300 kilometers on the odometer has been put up for sale for 9 million tenge (1.3 million rubles) — almost three times higher than the average market price for regular models. The reason lies in its unique design: instead of wheels, the vehicle has factory-installed tracks.
The vehicle, called the ZVM-2411 "Uzola," was manufactured at the Zavolzhsky Plant of All-Terrain Vehicles. This is not homemade tuning, but a production modification. Under the hood is a 2.9-liter gasoline engine, a manual transmission, all-wheel drive, and left-hand steering. The minimal mileage of 300 kilometers for an 11-year-old vehicle looks unusual and may indicate a long period of inactivity or use only in special cases.
The average cost of regular 2015 "Bukhankas" on the market rarely exceeds 3 million tenge. The price gap is explained by the vehicle's uniqueness: there are practically no alternatives on the market capable of competing with the tracked UAZ in cross-country ability and ease of maintenance.
The situation is telling against the backdrop of steady demand for simple and durable vehicles in Kazakhstan. The "Bukhanka" has long earned a reputation as reliable transport for harsh conditions, and the tracked version enhances these qualities. For buyers for whom cross-country ability in off-road conditions or snow drifts is critical, such a vehicle may justify its high price by the absence of competitors in its class.
