The Sosnovsky Shipbuilding Plant in the Kirov region will receive 1.5 billion rubles to restore production as part of the implementation of the national project "Industrial Support for Transport Mobility". This was announced by the Minister of Industry of the region, Denis Pestrikov.
The plant was founded in 1924. During the Great Patriotic War, it produced torpedo boats and aerosleighs. In the post-war years, the company mastered the production of fishing vessels and passenger hovercrafts "Zarnitsa", "Plamya" and "Orion".
Despite its rich history, the plant faced serious difficulties. Production stopped in 2016. In 2019, the company was declared bankrupt.
With new financial support, the Sosnovsky Shipbuilding Plant may return to work.
Earlier www1.ru reported that plans for the supply of Russian dry cargo vessels of project RSD59 were cut almost in half.
