Malakhit anti-ship missile carrier, the RTO Rassvet, practiced countering unmanned threats in the Barents Sea

Comprehensive training for the crew of the Project 1234.1 RTO included engaging high-speed small-sized targets amid the modern challenges of naval warfare

The crew of the small missile ship (RTO) Rassvet of the Kola Flotilla of Diverse Forces of the Northern Fleet conducted comprehensive artillery exercises at naval ranges in the Barents Sea. During the maneuvers, the sailors practiced scenarios for countering modern threats, including attacks by unmanned maritime craft and airborne attack assets.

The ship's combat crews carried out live firing with two artillery systems: the universal 76 mm AK-176 mount and the six-barrel 30 mm AK-630 close-range anti-aircraft artillery system. The exercises included engaging sea targets simulating both a traditional enemy surface ship and a small unmanned boat capable of carrying out high-speed attacks. At the same time, the crew repelled a simulated air raid and destroyed a small aerial target approaching the ship at extremely low altitude.

Rassvet is a Project 1234.1 small missile ship of Russia's Northern Fleet.
