At the Laysky Ship Repair Plant (Arkhangelsk Region), the overhaul of the passenger motor vessel \"Leonid Markov\" is continuing. As part of preparing the vessel for the upcoming navigation season, the plant's specialists have already completed a partial replacement of the hull metal and carried out sandblasting, which will ensure high quality for the subsequent painting. Special attention during the repairs is being paid to modernizing the power plant.
The vessel is planned to have its standard 30 kW diesel generators replaced with new 50 kW units each. This decision was made taking into account the expansion of the operating period for river transport during the cold season. The increased generator power will make it possible to maintain a comfortable temperature in the passenger cabins even in conditions of early frosts and late autumn.
The motor vessel \"Leonid Markov\", built in Moscow in 1989 according to a standard design, had already undergone extensive modernization in 2015 at the same Laysky SRZ. At that time, the main engines and auxiliary equipment of the engine room were replaced, and the interior of the passenger cabin was also completely refurbished. The vessel is now designed to carry 228 passengers and is used on suburban routes linking central Arkhangelsk with island territories and settlements of Primorsky District.
\"Leonid Markov\" is a passenger motor vessel of Project R-51E (Moskva type). Built in Moscow in 1989.
