Ahead of the launch of the updated model, AvtoVAZ engineers completed a cycle of validation tests of the LADA Vesta 2026 in artificial arctic cold conditions. The car demonstrated stable operation of all systems at a temperature of -30 °C, including remote engine start and comfort functions.
Specialists from the Togliatti car plant conducted a comprehensive test of the frost resistance of the new LADA Vesta 2026 in a unique climatic chamber of their own design. The tests simulated extreme weather conditions comparable to those in the Arctic region.
The climatic stand, designed for testing passenger cars and light commercial vehicles weighing up to 3.5 tons, is capable of reproducing a temperature range from +60 to -50 °C with adjustable air humidity (25–95%). The eight-ton unit is made of heat-insulating sandwich panels with an external coating of stainless steel; its all-welded floor is equipped with a drainage system for removing condensate and melt water.
During the cryo-tests, engineers recorded the correct operation of all electronic systems of the Vesta 2026 after several hours of exposure at -30 °C. The remote start of the power plant was performed on the first try, and after ten minutes of warm-up, the car reached the operating parameters necessary to start driving. Special attention was paid to checking the "warm" options: heated steering wheel and all seats (including the rear row) provided rapid heating of the cabin, which confirms the model's readiness for operation in harsh winter conditions.
It is noted that LADA Iskra and pre-production samples of the next generation Vesta had previously undergone laboratory tests on the same stand. Currently, the LADA Azimut crossover, the premiere of which is scheduled for 2026, is being tested in the chamber.
