The floating pier "Luzhniki" for the future fourth route of river electric transport has been opened in Moscow. This was reported by TASS Deputy Mayor of Moscow Maxim Liksutov. Currently, preparatory work is underway at the pier, after which its testing will begin.
The fourth route "Luzhniki - Kievsky" will connect three central districts of the city - Dorogomilovo, Khamovniki and Ramenki - and will pass through popular points of attraction for Muscovites: the Vorobyovy Gory nature reserve and the Luzhniki Olympic complex.
The route length will be more than 4 km, and passengers will be able to save up to 30 minutes on the way compared to ground transport. In total, four berths are planned in the capital on this route.
The floating pier with a diameter of 16 meters is designed for 80 passengers and is capable of charging electric vessels while parked. According to the mayor's office, this is a unique development that has no analogues in the world. The pier is fully powered by electricity, does not harm the environment and is equipped for the comfort of passengers: there are media screens with schedules, vending machines, comfortable sofas and a bathroom.
Three regular river routes already operate in Moscow: "Kievsky - Fili Park", "ZIL - Pechatniki" and "Novospassky - ZIL". The total length of the city's river routes will exceed 33 km after the launch of the new direction.
