Will Reduce Rail Laying to One Hour: RU-700 Rail Laying Complex to be Used by Russian Railways for the First Time

The RU-700 rail laying complex manufactured by JSC "Tulazheldormash named after A.V. Silkin" has arrived at the East Siberian Railway (ESR). The innovative machine will be used for the first time in the overhaul of the Glubokaya - Andrianovskaya mountain pass section.

The RU-700 rail laying complex is designed to replace old rail strands or inventory rails assembled into strands with new rail strands, introducing them into the optimal temperature range for fastening, as well as to replace rail pads.

The RU-700 consists of two sections. The first includes two 1.2 MW diesel generators and a module for transporting track workers. The second section houses rail replacement mechanisms that ensure the rails are pushed onto the track.

Now rail laying will be carried out at a speed of 700 meters per hour. Previously, it took three hours to lay a standard 800-meter rail strand, now it will take only one hour.

Earlier www1.ru reported that Russian Railways is introducing robodogs for diagnostics of wagons and infrastructure.
