The main increase in oil reserves in Russia in 2025 was provided by the Karasevskoye field in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug and the Prirazlomnoye field in the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug - Yugra. This was announced in an interview with RIA Novosti by the head of Rosnedra, Oleg Kazanov.
He clarified that these fields were the key sources of new oil reserves, strengthening the country's strategic position in the industry.
In the gas sector, the increase in new reserves was concentrated on the Barents Sea shelf - at the Ledovoye field, as well as at the Tambeyskoye and Verkhne-Chasselskoye fields in the YNAO, the Sobolokh-Nedzheinskoye field in Yakutia, and the Mezeninskoye field in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
The increase in commercial, that is, ready for production, oil reserves in 2025 is preliminarily estimated at 490 million tons, and gas at 650 billion cubic meters.
