A unique VAZ-2109 example is up for sale in Russia

A rare find for collectors and car enthusiasts

A rare car has been put up for sale in Russia — a 1990 VAZ-2109 that has covered only 15,500 km in 36 years. The hatchback has retained its factory condition and original mileage. The car will be a real find for collectors.

The seller is asking 850,000 rubles for this virtually "time-capsule" Soviet classic. The condition of the body and the well-kept interior in the photos create the impression that the car has just rolled off the assembly line.

The VAZ-2109 is equipped with a 64 hp 1.3-liter gasoline engine. It is paired with a manual transmission. The model entered production in 1987 and was a development of the VAZ-2108, differing by its five-door body and front-wheel drive.

The car was updated in 1991, and over the entire production run more than 1.5 million VAZ-2109 units rolled off the assembly line. This hatchback became iconic for many car enthusiasts in Russia and still evokes nostalgia today.
