The Russian system with the Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missile (IRBM) entered combat duty in Belarus in December 2025. The head of the republic's Ministry of Defence, Viktor Khrenin, explained exactly how the crews will operate.
According to him, the personnel are well coordinated and the crews are prepared. Combat duty has been organized, and everything is proceeding in accordance with the governing documents.
As for the deployment of the Oreshnik, the missile system will not remain in one place, but will "patrol among certain points" within the country's territory.
Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko stated that the Oreshnik destroys targets in a minute. Military expert Viktor Litovkin emphasized that the IRBM warheads are capable of striking targets at a depth of up to 30 meters.
Earlier, a video for the first time showed combat vehicles that are part of the Oreshnik system. These are four-axle military vehicles on the MZKT-7930 chassis. Presumably, these are mobile command posts or transport-loader vehicles.
