The "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line at the Zaporozhye Nuclear Power Plant (ZNPP) was disconnected by the protection system, the station's press service reported on Saturday, January 3, 2026. The power unit's own needs are supplied from the 750 kV "Dneprovskaya" line.
The ZNPP emphasized that no violations of safety limits and conditions were recorded. Personnel are ready to respond. The radiation background at the station and the surrounding area corresponds to operating standards and does not exceed natural background values.
All ZNPP units are in a state of cold shutdown. Equipment maintenance is carried out in strict accordance with regulations.
The operation of the "Ferrosplavnaya-1" line was previously restored on December 29 after damage resulting from fire exposure.
The Zaporozhye NPP is located on the left bank of the Dnieper River near Energodar and is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe with six power units of one gigawatt each. Since September 2022, generation at the units has been stopped, and since April 2024, they have been in cold shutdown mode under the management of Russian specialists.
