A new system from Bashkir craftsmen is capable of eliminating UAVs in automatic mode

A solution against one of the most difficult threats — fiber-optic controlled drones, which are almost invulnerable to electronic warfare, has been proposed in Bashkiria. The corresponding patent was registered in the FIPS database.

The key feature of the system is its fully autonomous operation. The device detects the target, recognizes it, tracks it, and opens fire without operator intervention.

Structurally, it was proposed to build the system on a rotary platform with electric drives. It is capable of rotating 360° horizontally and changing the angle of inclination from +90° to −45° vertically.

The platform will house a block of barrels, radar, video camera, thermal imager, and lidar. The combination of various sensors allows drones to be confidently detected at any time of the day and in difficult weather conditions, the developers say.

The control unit combines data from all sensors and automatically aims the weapon at the target using a digital processing system. At the same time, it controls the platform drives and firing. The barrel block is equipped with a pulse generator and an electronic switch that checks the health of all channels and applies a pulse only to the ready ammunition.

Alexey Chadaev, CEO of Ushkuynik, stated that the Russian military began using the fiber-optic drones "Prince Vandal of Novgorod" as an ambush "drone-waiter".
