The vehicles in the complex with a medium-range ballistic missile (MRBM) were not built from scratch; similar ones are already used in the Iskander-M operational-tactical missile system. This was pointed out by military expert, historian of air defense forces Yuri Knutov.
He drew attention to the fact that the published footage of "Oreshnik" in Belarus shows the same vehicles that are used in the Iskander-M complex. However, there are also interesting differences.
A storage vehicle is shown, probably an electronic warfare system, a command post. All the most important objects are hidden. This is understandable, they are top secret.
Knutov recalled that the main difference between missile systems is that the Iskander-M has a range of 500 km, while the Oreshnik has a range of 5500 km.
President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated that "Oreshnik" destroys targets in a minute. Military expert Viktor Litovkin emphasized that the MRBM warheads are capable of hitting targets at a depth of up to 30 meters.
