Emergency rescue vessel "Voevoda" officially started working in the ranks of the Marine Rescue Service in the Baltic

The vessel of project 23700, developed by Severnoye Design Bureau, is ready to perform tasks in the open sea

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation has transferred the new emergency rescue vessel "Voevoda" of project 23700 to the Baltic Branch of the Federal State Budgetary Institution "Marine Rescue Service" (Morspassluzhba). This was reported in the press service of the department.

The vessel was built at the Baltic Shipyard "Yantar" (part of the United Shipbuilding Corporation) according to the project developed by the Severnoye Design Bureau. The contract for its construction was concluded back in December 2016. The keel was laid on April 21, 2017, and launched on November 8, 2019.

"Voevoda" belongs to vessels of unlimited navigation area and is designed to perform a wide range of emergency rescue operations. In particular, it is capable of providing transportation, deployment and supply of small search and rescue equipment in the open sea, which significantly expands the operational capabilities of the Marine Rescue Service in the Baltic region.
