The Autonomous Non-profit Organization "Center for Unmanned Systems and Technologies" (CBST) is implementing a large project to protect the Kursk region from aerial threats, according to Andrey Bezrukov, Chairman of the Board of the non-profit organization.
According to him, the CBST"knows how to protect the sky" from drones. To do this, the developers use civil and military technologies.
Within this system, the CBST uses all possible sensors - radar stations, optical systems, acoustic systems, even seismic sensors.
At the same time, work is underway to create autonomous interception systems. One of them has already been tested in the Kursk region. At the end of December, the CBST will transfer the development to the region free of charge.
The system will be built on the basis of combat infrastructure, so the product will receive"baptism by fire literally in real time." In the near future, it is planned to increase its efficiency, added Bezrukov.
The head of the CBST did not rule out that the use of laser systems against UAVs would begin in 2026. There are already a number of companies in the non-profit organization's structure that are engaged in similar developments, he concluded.
