Specialists from Spectra Aircraft (part of the S7 Group aviation holding) and the Chaplygin Siberian Research Institute of Aviation (SibNIA) conducted the first flight tests of the updated Tango light aircraft. This was reported by the holding's press service.
The tests took place at the SibNIA base in Novosibirsk. Tango was in the air for 10 minutes. During the flight, specialists checked the operability of systems and controllability.
Spectra Aircraft stated that the new modification of Tango features improved aerodynamic and take-off and landing characteristics, and also has a lower weight compared to the previous version of the aircraft.
The old modification of Tango was equipped with a UL Power 520is engine manufactured by the Belgian company ULPower Aero Engines. However, the developers decided to replace the Western power unit with a Russian one. The APD-520 "Lider" engine was created for the aircraft. It is currently undergoing testing at the Spectra Aircraft technical base in the Moscow region.
