The Transmashholding Group (JSC "TMH") has certified a new version of the EP3D AC electric train. This was reported in the manufacturer's press service.
The updated electric train became the first in its class to have an environmentally friendly toilet complex installed in a non-motorized intermediate car. Previously, in EP3D locomotives, they were installed only in the head cars.
In October, the new train successfully passed tests at the VNIIZhT Experimental Ring in Shcherbinka. Now the plant has received a certificate of compliance with the Technical Regulations of the Customs Union TR TS 001/2011. This will allow the production of updated electric trains of this type for five years.
EP3Ds have been produced since 2016 and meet modern comfort and safety requirements. They are equipped with ergonomic seats, USB chargers, climate control systems and convenient places for passengers with limited mobility.
