Federal Cargo Company (FGC), in collaboration with the Kuibyshev Railway (a branch of Russian Railways), conducted the first pilot shipment of a train with diesel fuel for the Far North, consisting of 29 eight-axle tank cars of model 15-1271 "Nakhodka". Loading was carried out at a site in the Republic of Tatarstan, and the cargo is intended for consumers in Yakutia and the Far East.
The total volume of Arctic diesel fuel transported was approximately 4,000 tons. This special fuel is designed for operation in extremely low temperatures and is used, in particular, at coal deposits in the Far East, where it ensures the stable operation of diesel locomotives and other equipment during the winter.
According to experts, the use of 8-axle "Nakhodka" tank cars allows increasing the volume of transportation by 11% compared to traditional 4-axle tank cars when transporting a similar type of fuel. With the transition to regular flights, the growth in carrying capacity can reach 14%. This solution is especially relevant for limiting sections of the Eastern Polygon, where the growth of cargo traffic requires optimization of the rolling stock.
