Russians (96%) support the creation of dedicated lanes and zones for the movement of personal mobility devices (PMDs, including electric scooters). This is confirmed by the results of a study by the Institute of Public Opinion "Anketolog", in which 1,600 citizens over 18 years of age participated.
In addition, 70% of respondents say that pedestrians, motorists and PMD drivers should move along different paths. At the same time, 70% of respondents admitted - without allocating a separate lane on the roadway, they are not ready to go on the road.
77% note that the urban environment does not yet ensure safety for all road users.
According to the research materials, car owners consider the use of PMDs on the road to be unsafe. 75% of the survey participants oppose this. And 90% are sure that riding electric scooters and bicycles on the roadway increases the risk of accidents.
