The United Aircraft Corporation (UAC, part of Rostec Group) is discussing taking control of a number of projects of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA). This was reported by a source of Business Online.
According to the source, the first step for UAC will be the management of small design bureaus that can create aircraft for 5–9 passengers.
Against this background, news emerged that Oleg Bogomolov has become the new director of the Department of Civil Aviation Programs at UAC. Prior to that, he worked at UZGA as the director of civil aviation programs under the leadership of the current CEO of the corporation, Vadim Badeha.
Oleg Bocharov was appointed as the first deputy CEO of UAC, who previously oversaw the aviation industry as Deputy Minister of Industry.
All these UZGA topics, born by Badeha with the support of Bocharov, should logically be given to the same Badeha at UAC, which, they say, they are now trying to do.
As a reminder, UZGA's main projects are the light aircraft LMS-901 Baikal and the training aircraft UTS-800.
Earlier in October, the head of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, Anton Alikhanov, stated that the Baikal aircraft will take to the skies as early as 2025. There have been no news about this yet.
