Another UTS-800 training aircraft made its first flight at the airfield of the Ural Civil Aviation Plant (UZGA). The designers tested the stability and handling characteristics in takeoff and landing modes.
UZGA test pilot Alexey Yazykov noted that the tests were carried out according to all the requirements of the flight assignment. The UTS-800 proved to be predictable, there are no comments on its operation.
All the stability and handling characteristics of the aircraft have been confirmed. Among the advantages of the UTS-800 are the low cost per flight hour, optimal speeds at the takeoff and landing stages, suitable for the training process, as well as stable behavior at angles of attack close to critical, which is ideal for training cadets.
UZGA added that the program includes checking various flight modes, maneuvers and operating conditions necessary to assess the stability, handling and aerodynamic characteristics of the aircraft.
The UTS-800 is equipped with a turboprop engine, ejection seats, a standard oxygen system, an air conditioning system, an anti-icing system and other onboard equipment.
