Almost without breakdowns: A resident of Kazan traveled 8,000 kilometers in a VAZ-2109 and managed to reach Morocco

A month-long journey covered 13 countries in Europe and North Africa

A resident of Kazan made an incredible road trip in an old VAZ-2109, driving over 8,000 kilometers in a month and reaching Morocco. His route passed through the Caucasus, the Balkans, Central and Southern Europe, and then through the Iberian Peninsula — a total of 13 countries. The final point was North Africa, where he crossed by ferry through Gibraltar.

During the trip, the traveler lived in a tent set up directly on the roof of the car. According to him, the "nine" showed enviable reliability: the first breakdown occurred only in Spain. The problem could have disrupted the route — auto shops in the country were closed on weekends. But a local resident came to the rescue, whose husband turned out to be a car mechanic. After the repair, the car reached Casablanca without any problems.

The Kazan resident did not dare to take the return trip. He left the car at the airport and flew home by plane. According to rough estimates, the entire trip cost him about two thousand dollars, including fuel, food, minor repairs and a ferry. During this time, he used almost 900 liters of gasoline.

Lawyers note that such routes require careful preparation: the driver needs to think through logistics in advance, collect documents for crossing borders and make sure that the car is in good technical condition. Any malfunction in another country may result in a fine or a ban on further movement.

The "nine" has long become a symbol of reliability and simplicity of the Russian automotive industry, and this case only confirms that legendary models continue to live
