The Aviastar aircraft factory (part of PJSC Il, Rostec State Corporation) in Ulyanovsk will begin producing new aircraft — Il-100 and Il-276. This was announced by the governor of the region, Alexei Russkikh, during a direct line with residents of the region.
According to him, the company will soon begin work on technical re-equipment.
Next, we have a program for the production of new Il-100 and Il-276 aircraft, and design is already underway.
Russkikh clarified that the Il-276 is a smaller copy of the Il-76 with two engines, with a smaller payload, but the aircraft will find its niche.
It is necessary for our transporters, primarily for the military.
The Il-100 is similar to the legendary An-124 Ruslan in many respects and is in the design stage.
As a reminder, Aviastar specializes in the production of Il-76MD-90A transport aircraft and the maintenance of An-124 Ruslan aircraft.
Earlier, Russkikh noted that Aviastar was tasked with increasing the production of Il-76MD-90A.
