State Duma Vice-Speaker Boris Chernyshov has appealed to the head of the Central Bank, Elvira Nabiullina, with a proposal to abolish commissions on bank transfers between close relatives.
The document notes that the initiative aims to reduce the financial burden on citizens and support the institution of the family. Chernyshov proposes to oblige banks to provide the possibility of free transfers between the accounts of people who are closely related.
Confirmation of kinship, according to the deputy's idea, can be carried out once — when submitting an application to the bank with the attachment of documents, such as a birth or marriage certificate. At the same time, the confidentiality of personal data must be observed.
According to the parliamentarian, even small commissions create an additional burden on the family budget and actually become a "hidden tax on intra-family support." He believes that the abolition of commissions will help Russian families save money, increase the level of financial literacy and will contribute to the development of a cashless payment infrastructure in the country.
