Lada Azimut Closer to Market Launch: Model to be Certified in Early 2026

The car will undergo testing before it enters the assembly line

The Lada Azimut crossover will be certified in 2026, according to AvtoVAZ head Maxim Sokolov.

Certification will be completed before the start of assembly line production. The model will go on sale next year.

100 cars were produced for certification tests. The cars were assembled using pre-production technology and assembly line methods.

Production of the Lada Azimut is scheduled to begin in the first quarter of 2026. Sales of the new product will begin between the second and third quarters.

In its basic configuration, the Lada Azimut will be equipped with upgraded 1.6 and 1.8-liter engines producing 120 and 132 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission or a CVT. In future versions, the automaker plans to offer a 150 hp turbocharged engine with a classic automatic transmission.

Earlier, www1.ru reported that AvtoVAZ showed the prototype testing of the Lada Azimut car on the legendary track in Togliatti.
