A new Air Traffic Control Tower (ATC) was commissioned at Grozny (Severny) Airport as part of the "Transport of Russia" forum. The opening ceremony was conducted remotely by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin. The head of Rosaviatsiya, Dmitry Yadrov, also participated in the event.
The ATC complex includes two key elements:
- A two-story administrative building, the silhouette of which repeats the shape of a crescent;
- A 52-meter control tower with 10 floors, made in the form of a hyperboloid.
The object was designed by the "Aeroproject" institute, which is subordinate to Rosaviatsiya. The construction was financed by the State Air Traffic Management Corporation (OrVD).
The new ATC is designed to improve the efficiency of air traffic management and improve the infrastructure of Grozny Airport.
